I don't play like the 2 other posters above at all. Originally posted by hiliadan:I play mostly Goblin Theocrat. In theory, you should then be able to build your army as you move toward your opponent's throne, and just take it. Once you have convert, you need to convert 1 unit at each combat as much as possible (debuff from Orc and Goblin support or from Necro hero are very useful there). So you must be cautious not to lose it and go very fast to lvl 5 for healing and then to lvl 7 for convert. Theo is based on snowballing and do not tolerate losing your main stack. Against Necro, path 2/ is clearly better because Crusaders and Evangelist are Necro killers. It depends who you are facing and what is in your spell book. the 2 other Orders of)Ģ/ go for Evangelist, who also have healing, and in addition have convert When you can have Exalted, your Leader is usually lvl 11 or above and has Divine Justicar, which makes their resurgence redundant.įor me, you've got 2 tech paths for Theo in early game:ġ/ go for healing support and Order of Healing => get all the Empire Upgrade to unlock it (i.e. I did and i got my ass handed because of it. Heroes armies are your main armies but playing theocrat means you must be willing to send your troops to there deaths.ĭont underestimate the advantage of declare heretic and denouce city. The most important thing is that you focus on numbers. So i suggest getting either destruction adapt or expander. Scortched earth is a great way to deny your enemy production centers(towns)Īnd theocrat are only secondry to archdruids in growing towns. King gets enough extra income then denying resourses is pointless. Shadowborn master for those who convert towns to there race. Grey gaurd mastery for those who conquer alot of race's. Keeper mastery for those who use alot of vassals. Upgrade's only if i got an abundance of gold and mana. When playing theocrat i am of the mindset of drowning my enemy in the blood of the faithfull. I will seround a enemy town with several: 2 martyrs, 2 crusaders, 2 exalted parties. When i play theocrat my useall tatic is to have 1 or 2 production towns and the rest vassal/money towns. Paid absolution will give a good moral and money boost and you shoud try to have one on any town with atleast a shrine(if i recall correctly the upkeep is 10 mana and the shire gives 10 mana so it cancel s eatchother out) The crusaders do most of the killing while your martyrs stay out of harms way.Įvengelist primary ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is to heal the martyrs there secondry ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is to convert targets of opertunity. The martyrs use share pain on the crusaders. This combination is good for most fights. (sorcerors shoud be specced as spellcasters/nukers not army leaders) Keep you heroes close to eatchother so you are always fighting a 3 vs 1. Give every hero(outside sorceror) there own troops. Sounds like your problem is that you wait until they attack you. Move your enemy and do not be moved by him. What hero classes do you pref to hire? I so far have like sorcerers for no real reason expect just spells and stuff. What is your prefered tech path? What do you prioritize? My tech path is rather random with a theo as i dont know what to rly focus on. What difficulty do you play on as that usually changes gameplay and how you approach things a LOT. You only spam summon cherubs, what good does that do a few is enough for exploring? I recently tried going back to Warlord, and OMG that class sucks. If your economy is strong, Theo is the one class that has the tools to overcome any match-up. So summon cherubs like crazy early on, and try to get your leader to level 11 asap.ĭon't forget to use Paid Absolution and the other one that grows your cities, growth is happiness and happiness is money. My strategy in general is to rely on summons early so you build buildings. well those are more just to do big damage at a distance, which is always good. Martyrs sacrifice themselves, Crusaders plug choke points, Evangelists heal, Exalted are immortal pawns used for flanking, and Shrines.
